JUDO SAFETY

Beginners should never train without the supervision of a qualified judo instructor, as unsupervised and untutored judo techniques can be potentially dangerous.
Always ensure that judo mats are used when practicing to avoid injury.
Ensure that you only practise judo with someone who is able to fall correctly.

The practice area must always be safe so make sure that tables and chairs are moved away from the mat area, and that there are no sharp objects on or around the mat that could cause injury.
Always ensure that you are able to contact someone, either by telephone or someone in the immediate area, who is able to administer first aid in the case of an emergency. By taking careful note of all the safety precautions, you can avoid injuries that may occur in contact sports such as judo.
